Ever Wonder If A Cow Has A Positive Attitude?
One of your leading goals should be to be of service to others, just as
others will be of service to you.
In reality, helping others without expecting anything in return CAN
reward you in more ways than you may have thought possible. It's what
we give and the positive attitude we display while giving that brings
our greatest rewards.
A wealthy man once asked his friend, "Why am I always being criticized
for being miserly? Everyone knows I will leave everything to charity
when I die".
"Well", the friend responded, "let me tell you about the cow and the
pig. The pig was complaining to the cow one day about how unpopular he
was. 'People are always talking about how a cow is gentle and has kind
eyes' said the pig. 'Sure, you give milk and cream, but I give more.
I give bacon, ham and bristles. Why, they even pickle my feet! Still,
nobody likes me. Why is this?"'
The cow thought for a moment and then replied, "Well, maybe it's
because I give while I'm still living ".
"Rings and jewels are not gifts, but apologizes for gifts. The only
gift is a portion of thyself". Ralph Waldo Emerson
Although we should be willing to give of ourselves on a daily basis,
try not to spend time with people whose attitude is less positive than
yours, or with people who purport to live everyone's life but their
own. Their negativism can not help but to breed negativism.
Although their negativism about the economy, a job, a pay rate,
relationship, the future, etc., may always be popular, you are the
only one who can make the conscious choice of your own thought
patterns and your willingness to give. "The buck stops . . ." at the
portal to your own thought level.
Separate yourself from people who are lazy about their future and
stay away from society's 'fog-filled' folks who try to fill you with
their negative influences. Your family is one matter (although you
should consider each member's immediate or extended) influence on
you as well) - your choice of friends and associates is quite another.
It is an uncompromising task to maintain a high level of motivation and
enthusiasm in giving of yourself and you will only make it tougher by
trying to drag negative people up your ladder of success.
Open your ears and listen to your friends and associates. Do they talk
in the present or past tense? Folks who are always talking in the past
tense, "I did this", "I've done that", or "I earned this much", or
people are always recalling past events are not success driven. Nor
are they past-tense historians. Society 'independents' are
interested in, and talk about, where they are going - not where they've
been.
"No one leads and orchestra without turning their back on the crowd".

The world is comprised of two types of people:
1) Those who are busily trying to impress others with how much they
are achieving, and
2) Those who are silently, and busily, achieving their goals and living
their personalized definition of success as they are giving to others.
Identify, associate with and support the latter -yet be willing to give
your positive thoughts and optimism to all.
When you commit to giving your best to others each day you will be
improving yourself and your overall opportunity for success. You CAN
acquire anything you want if you will but help enough other people get
what they want. Give of your positive attitude, your willingness to
help others, and your positive view of the bountiful opportunities
this wonderful life experience offers us all.
So, when you see a cow, give 'em a thumbs up and join 'em by giving
while you're still living!
